Needed updates out of the box as all laptops do, but this was one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had updating a new laptop. Pre-update, it was almost unusably buggy, to the extent that it was difficult to actually install the needed updates. Wouldn't open the start menu, wouldn't open the Settings app. I had to get real creative to even be able to install the necessary updates. Post updates, though, everything works as expected. Updated 9/26/22 to add: So, last night I noticed a rattling sound, and this morning I pulled up a YouTube video on how to remove the casing from the body of the laptop (probably voiding the warranty in the process, I assume) to find that there was a literal loose screw rattling around inside. It was easy enough to open up, let the screw fall out (God willing it didn't fall out of anything important), and put back together, but it goes without saying this shouldn't have been necessary. So, you know. Maybe give it a quick shake out of the box to make sure you won't have to open it up, unless you're comfortable doing that sort of thing.

Most these laptop sellers here purchase these in bulk, open them up and install their own upgrades, then sell as upgraded. Mine had a few nicks in the plastic showing where they opened the case. But the manufacturer's warranty starts when they purchased it. Mine started in November of 2021 even though I just bought it, so I only have 3 months remaining. But do yourself a favor and upgrade the SSD yourself to a better model. I bought the 256GB laptop version and received a model WD PC SN530 SSD, basically a Western Digital Green which is bottom of the barrel in quality and lifetime. I bought a 1TB WD Blue which is better quality and will have a longer life then installed a fresh clean OS myself. Not really a bad system, the CPU is fast enough for all tasks, and with the NVMe SSD everything else runs fast. The screen is a bit on the week side, even though it's 1080p it has a poor side-angle view. Just about on par with any another similar priced system. Just don't expect a full 12 month manufacturer's warranty, unless you time it right and purchase right when the buyer bought their stock.

Love this laptop. Fast, easy to use. One thing kept me from giving it a 5 star rating. The power switch is located under the top so you have to lift the lid to turn it on. I use it as a local workstation, hooked up to a KVM switch. So it becomes one of a set of PC's controlled by a single keyboard, mouse, and external monitor. When I go on a trip, I disconnect it from the KVM and it's ready to go. Because it sits on a shelf with minimal headroom, it is annoying to have to lift the lid to turn it on. Older models have the switch on the side.

This replaced my 2017 Pavilion. In the interim, this model has gotten significantly lighter and more secure! I'm running Windows 11™ with no problems and the processor speed and image quality are both excellent 👍.

I received this laptop quickly. It is as described, from what I can tell at first use. The charger AC side is unusually small and only fits some of my outlets. Immediately upon starting the laptop, I received an error: CMOS Checksum is invalid. I am not sure if this will persist and if it does, I will lower my rating and return this laptop. The laptop battery was empty upon start up. Set up was easy and quick. The laptop is light and the screen is wide and good quality.

The media could not be loaded. This Computer has had multiple issues and latest is a bad video card. HP technical services wants to keep doing software updates and stalled me until the warranty ran out. Since I'm the Purchasing Agent for The Corporation that I work for, HP Is no longer on my Vendor List. I'll even purchase aftermarket Printer Ink for the HP Printers I have until these printers die. They will be replaced with Non - HP Products when they go kaput. I did buy a Dell Laptop to replace this final HP laptop and have been very satisfied with that so far.

Ordered it thinking it was Windows 11. It was actually Windows S mode 11 which is ridiculous. Have to change it out of S mode before you can even use it properly.

Bought this hoping it would be a low-cost but workable alternative to a more expensive model. Computer broke within 3 months. UbreakIfix is unable to determine a problem...total loss and waste of money.
