When I received the package, straight out of the box, I noticed 5 different air bubbles between the touchscreen and the LCD panel. Instead of refund, I decided to go for replacement. The 2nd time I received it, no air bubbles, battery is working fine, and I made sure all ports were working. Even if the 1st one was just an unlucky defect, this laptop still falls behind in quality for 1 reason: the touchscreen reacts to the metal body it is touching if I set it to not go to sleep upon closing lid. I opened up microsoft's paint and closed the lid just to see where it was detecting touches. In 3 seconds, it somehow detected around 50 different touches since there were around 50 different dots drawn on it. If you intend to set the laptop so that it goes to sleep when closing the lid (which is also the default setting), then this shouldn't affect you. However, because there exists no other way to turn off display, I see this as a major design flaw, and this alone justifies taking off 2 stars on this review. My solution to this is disabling the touchscreen module in Device Manager, and that works for me because I was looking for a compact mini laptop rather than a touchscreen device, but otherwise I would have immediately returned this laptop. The manufacturer locked the screen rotation on and does not allow u to turn it off. As in, the screen rotation settings is grayed out in the settings so that u cannot disable it. My solution to this issue was to disable gyroscope module in Device Manager, and that works for me because I do not intend to use any software requiring the use of a gyroscope. Perhaps clean reinstall of windows might be the perfect solution, but I did not want to take risks with return policy "tampering" in case I need to return this device over defects I may find over time in the next 30 days. One thing to note (but is not part of reason for taking stars off) is that this laptop is a fanless device that uses the metal body itself to dissipate heat, and obviously laptop will feel hot when doing work. Using Throttlestop.exe to check the temps, I noticed the CPU temperature was going as high as 78 degrees celcius on Bluestacks (it's not something that you want if you want the device to last) when given no restrictions, and the laptop chassis itself was getting hot. My solution to this is setting power limits on Throttlestop.exe so that the CPU doesn't draw too much power. I found that somewhere around 6W~7W limit for long power boost is a good sweetspot when it comes to balancing performance (still can reach over 2.0ghz speed during some normal use cases) and heat output (CPU temps of around 50~60 degrees celcius). Disabling turbo boost feature entirely reduced power usage to around 3.5 watts and at temperatures of 40~45 degrees celcius but laptop gets too sluggish.

I was honestly kinda shocked how usable this little board/cover combo is. Obviously certain sacrifices were made due to limited space, but the result is a surprisingly standand laptop board layout. You're gonna have to make due with a slightly shrunken down "Backspace" and "~" key but other than that all the keys are basically here in albeit in slightly smaller form. I actually wanted to see how decent it was so I'm actually using it to type out the review and I really don't thing that its bad at all. The keys are actually really snappy and give good feedback. I can definitely see touchtype purists and people with overly large hands having issues with typing on a board like this, so that should be something to evaluate when buying this product for sure. As for the touchpad your mileage is gonna vary here. See most of the issues that you might exprience are likely gonna come from software. Android has decent touchpad support but it isn't 100%. I ran into a few issues (in android system menus mainly) where touchpad support wasn't (whereas right now I'm using this board in a browser and its working 100% fine, just like a laptop) working for scrolling and tap to click especially. So again that's nothing against the board here, that's mainly Android software. Outside of that, tap to click works fine, two finger scrolling can be a bit finnicky or slow sometimes, and that one I'm actually not sure if thats on the hardware or software side, so take that into conderation. As far as the "cover" qualities of this item, I think its fine. Its not super innovative. I folds around in the back of the unit to prop it up and act as a sort of stand, which again is fine. You're not gonna get tons of different positions here, it just props it up at a defined angle. Should be worth noting, it doensn't really like to sit up on slicker surfaces, like say, a glass desktop of a finished coffee table, but i just put a mug or something behind it. I'd dock a star for not being 100% stable all the time. So, I don't know, if you do happen to have the pretty obscure Teclast T30 lying around, I'd recommend giving this a go. It is pretty usable for what it is.
